The CD4099 8-Bit Addressable Latch IC is a serial input, parallel output storage register designed to perform multiple functions in digital circuits. It allows data input to a specific bit when addressed through inputs (A0, A1, A2) while WRITE DISABLE is at a low level. When WRITE DISABLE is high, new data entry is inhibited, but outputs can still be read independently.

This IC also features a Master RESET function, enabling all bits to reset to a logic level. It can also act as a 1-of-8 demultiplexer, where the addressed bit follows the data input, while unaddressed bits remain in a fixed state.
